Bringing Retro Garden Furniture into a Modern World
AAre you a traditionalist at heart and love the look of a shabby chic garden with subtle tones and a traditional appearance as opposed to the modern sleek lines and infinite gadgets and gizmos? At White Stores, we have revealed how you can get a traditional garden appearance with new garden furniture.
If you prefer the retro appeal of cast iron or natural rattan garden furniture, you may find that it is hard to get hold of these and feel that you have to cling on to your old garden furniture that is old and falling apart. But you don’t have to do this! With our new alternatives, you can achieve a traditional appearance with new garden furniture that blends seamlessly with your existing space.
Our cast aluminium, Cotswold range, is the perfect alternative to traditional cast iron. Not only is it much lighter weight, allowing you to move around with ease, but it is also much more weatherproof than iron. Iron has a habit of rusting and whilst this may add to the old-timey feel, it isn’t appealing and isn’t good for your garden furniture.
Cast aluminium will not rust and can be left outside all year round with little maintenance. Plus, it is easy to wipe clean should it get dirty.
Additionally, this material can be shaped into lots of pretty patterns, similar to that of traditional cast iron, which gives the appearance of a classic garden furniture set, without any of the drawbacks of old materials, helping to bring this design up to date for a more modern world.
Rattan Garden Furniture
Real, natural rattan is not suitable for a UK climate and cannot be purchased in the UK. However, there are synthetic plastic rattan substitutes that are fully weatherproof and can be left outside all year round without damage.
Plus, there are many colour options available. Typically, those with modern gardens opt for a grey or brown colour rattan, however, if you have a more traditional garden space then our Oyster range is the ideal rattan furniture design for you.
Our Oyster collection is a natural colour with oatmeal cushions. The weave has rounded detailing which gives it a heritage appeal that would fit well within a traditional garden space. Plus, within the dining tables there is a space for parasols and our great wooden Dominica range or Antigua aluminium range of parasols would complement this design perfectly.
Speaking of parasols, our wooden parasol range is brilliant for combining modern design with a classic appearance. Our Dominica and Deluxe Dominica parasol collections offer a luxurious appearance with traditional aspects as well as modern features that improve the use of the parasol to offer great sun protection.
Designed to be used in conjunction with dining tables or with a heavier weight these parasols can be used as freestanding and are perfect for granting shade on a hot day.
