How To Clip Your Garden Furniture Together
OOne of our most frequently asked questions is how do I secure my garden furniture or what are these clips for that have been included with my order? In this blog we’ll highlight just what those little clips are for and how they keep your modular garden furniture secured.
Modular Garden Furniture
Modular garden furniture is becoming increasingly popular. This is because every garden space is unique, and consumers need something that suits them or that they can adjust to suit them and their needs.
Modular furniture allows you to do just that as you can rearrange the setup in a number of different ways to suit the occasion, your garden layout, or just what you fancy in that moment.
Clipping The Pieces Together
The problem many people have with modular furniture is that because it can be moved around it is often not secured in one place, which is where our handy clips come in.
These clips go on the underneath of your furniture to hold the pieces together and stop them from moving about. They are very easy to attach and just push on to the underside of the furniture where you want the pieces to join. They are also very easy to slide back off should you want to rearrange the furniture once more.
If you’re still confused about how and where they go, we’ve broken this down into 3 very simple steps:
Step 1: Turn the furniture pieces you wish to clip together onto their side, so that you can see the underside and framework of the furniture.
Step 2: Ensure the pieces are aligned and touching together. Hold against each other with one hand if needs be.
Step 3: Take the clip and, making sure it wraps around both pieces, push gently until the flat surface of the clip is pressed against the furniture.
Making sure the flat surface of the clip is pressed right against the furniture is important so that your furniture doesn’t become uneven and wobble.
Corner Dining Units
We also include these clips in our rattan corner units to hold each bench together. This is ideal as it stops the benches from coming apart when someone sits down or stands up a little too forcefully. These connect in exactly the same way as listed above.
Reasons To Clip The Furniture Together
Not knowing what they are, people can often ignore these clips but there are many reasons for clipping the furniture together, including:
• Stopping the furniture from becoming separated/moving about when people are getting up and down a lot.
• Keeping the furniture securely tied together to stop it being blown about in high winds. This is particularly important for rattan furniture as the modular pieces are very lightweight on their own but when attached to one another make it stronger.
• Makes it easier to attach a cover – attaching a cover is much simpler when the pieces aren’t constantly moving out of alignment with each other.
