One of the most traditional and beautiful materials used to manufacture garden furniture is Teak. The golden colours when new and softened grey tones when weathered look perfectly at home in the garden whether used to make a dining set, sofa set or the simple garden bench.

In the current climate it is important to ensure that your teak furniture is only sourced from sustainable FSC accredited forests and suppliers to ensure environment policies are met at all times.

Whilst teak garden furniture is stunning when purchased, it does take some effort to uphold this glorious condition including regular cleaning and treatments such as protective paints to prevent discolouration of the wood, as ideally, you don't want that gorgeous golden colour turning silvery/grey.

Plus, as wooden furniture is not fully weatherproof and can often rot when exposed to damp and cold conditions, it does need to be stored indoors during long periods of bad weather and little use, such as winter.

Although many can be put off by the work required to look after teak furniture, if you are willing to put in the effort it can really pay off because wood furniture can last upwards of 20 years if treated properly. Meaning you can enjoy your beautiful teak furniture for years to come.
