Cambridge is most widely known as the home of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1209 and consistently ranked one of the top five universities in the world. The university includes the renowned Cavendish Laboratory, King's College Chapel, and the Cambridge University Library. The Cambridge skyline is dominated by the last two buildings, along with the chimney of Addenbrooke's Hospital in the far south of the city and St John's College Chapel tower. Our rattan garden furniture has proven to be extremely popular for schools, colleges and universities in and around the area. One item in particular that has been very popular for schools is our storage box. The storage box is lightweight which makes it very easy to move around. They come in chocolate and black rattan and come in two different sizes.
If you're looking for more reason to visit the Cambridge area there is plenty to do, including several fairs and festivals that take place in Cambridge, mostly during the summer. Midsummer Fair dates back to 1211, when it was granted a charter by King John. Today it exists primarily as an annual funfair with the vestige of a market attached and is held over several days around or close to midsummers day. On the first Saturday in June Midsummer Common is also the site for Strawberry Fair, a free music and children's fair, with a series of market stalls. For one week in May, on nearby Jesus Green, the annual Cambridge Beer Festival is held. Started in 1974, it is Britain's second-largest beer festival outside London. Apparently 90,000 pints of beer and a tonne of cheese were served in 2009.
Cambridge is a university town in the centre of the county of Cambridgeshire, about 50 miles north of London. With excellent transport links into the capital, it is easy to travel to as well.
