How to Mix & Match Outdoor Furniture Materials
There are many garden furniture materials out there and if you stick to just one material you may be limiting your choices. However, if you go overboard your garden may look mismatched and messy. Here, we have revealed how to mix & match garden furniture materials in a way that looks effective and practical.
Outdoor Fabric & Aluminium
These two materials go hand in hand and create a very upmarket look. You will struggle to find outdoor tables made in an outdoor fabric material and therefore if you want a coffee table or dining table with your outdoor fabric sofa set or chairs, aluminium is the perfect choice.
These materials complement each other well, not only in looks but in durability. Both materials are weather resistant and stylish, making them the ideal combination.
Rattan & Acacia Wood
A wooden dining table is strong and sturdy and looks stunning accompanied by half round synthetic rattan dining chairs. These materials are both very robust, however the rattan dining chairs will be more weather resistant than the wood, so in order to get the most out of your furniture we recommend taking good care of the wood and ensuring you use restoring and weather resistant paints.
Teak & Aluminium
Teak and aluminium make very stylish companions. There are lots of furniture items like dining sets and swing sets that will combine the two materials in one set, and this gives you plenty of freedom to use both materials throughout your garden. For example, some teak deck chairs and an aluminium side table will look great together.
Aluminium & Rattan
Combining rattan outdoor furniture like sofa sets and armchairs with aluminium furniture such as coffee tables, is incredibly stylish and helps the rattan to appear more modern. We recommend sticking to neutral colours for both the rattan and the aluminium to achieve the best look as a dark rattan and a bright pink aluminium coffee table, for example, would not achieve this upmarket modern look.
