Choosing Your Rattan Dining Chair

Why Rattan?

Firstly, why choose a rattan dining chair? Not only are they available in different styles, colours and rattan materials to suit every garden but they are also extremely comfortable as well as fully weatherproof.

Our rattan chairs are made using powder coated aluminium framework, which is resistant to rust and extremely long-lasting, as well as HDPE synthetic rattan which is fully resistant to the UK’s damp climate.

All of our rattan dining chairs come with padded cushions, some come with both seat and back cushions and others come with just seat cushions. This offers extra padding and comfort for long afternoons spent outdoors.

The cushions themselves are stain-resistant and showerproof but should be kept indoors when not in use as they are not fully weatherproof.

Standard Dining Chairs

Our standard dining chairs include the Amelia chair from our Classic collection and the Camilla chair from our Heritage collection.

These chairs are a smaller option that are great for space saving and combine low backs that offer a slight recline with soft armrests. These chairs offer a balance between traditional dining chairs and lounge chairs.

Traditional Dining Chairs

Our traditional dining chairs include the Sienna range from our Classic collection and the Thalia range from our Heritage collection.

These chairs have high backs which force you to sit upright which is very supportive and great for posture, allowing you to spend plenty of time dining al fresco without suffering from back ache. They also both include padded seat and back cushions which allow you to sink into the chairs for increased comfort.

Lounge Dining Chairs

Our lounge dining chairs are the Olivia chair from our Classic collection and the Leeanna chair from our Heritage range.

These chairs are much lower to the ground, making them less formal dining chairs and rather a casual lounge chair which makes them ideal for snacks and drinks outdoors. These chairs also offer sloping backs and curved armrests which from the outset make them comfortable and easy to sink into. These chairs are the perfect choice for those who prefer to host informal barbecues in a lounge setup.

Reclining Dining Chairs

Our reclining dining chairs include the Ruxley range from our Classic collection and the Carolina range from our Heritage collection.

These dining chairs combine the best of both worlds. When upright they offer a formal dining appearance with high backs that offer plenty of support. But when reclined they transform into a casual lounge chair that you can spend hours comfortably relaxed in with a glass of vino in hand and nibbles on the table. The chairs recline using a hydraulic pump that allows you to recline in stages, offering multiple reclining angles to suit your preference.

How to Choose

Before choosing your rattan dining chair we recommend considering what you will use your garden for the most. If you prefer to host formal garden parties with set meals, our traditional dining chairs will offer the perfect comfort and support for this. If you’d rather spend your time drinking, chatting and snacking then our lounge dining chairs will offer the perfect chilled ambiance.
